for 9 days, i eat, sleep and breathe Olympics.
for many of my friends, i'm quite sure they dont find it surprising at all.
after all, 4 years ago, i skipped lectures to go home and watch Ian Thorpe swim.
8 years ago, loo and i were debating furiously at the back of the class about the new sensation, Ian Thorpe.
and so this time round, it's all about Michael Phelps.
he's truly amazing...
he's definitely taken over the position of Thorpe's position in my heart.
and somehow, under so much speculation and expectations from everyone,
he has proven that nothing is impossible.
and so, for 9 days, i woke up at around 930am every morning to ensure that i wont miss any of his swims at all.
i went to the facilitators camp late.
left the camp early cos it was the final day for swimming and i really want to see him win the 8th Gold medal.
in short, i was crazy about him.
Day 1...

Day 3...
the 4x100m freestyle relay was simply tooooo instense... considering the Jason Lezak came from a body length behind to overtake Alain Bernard to win the race....

August seems like an interesting month for me.
even my aunt is trying to be a matchmaker
seems like i'm not the one who is worried or even in a hurry,
the people around me seems to be more anxious.
i was quite disappointed when my aunt told me that dinner was cancelled and so we wont be watching the fireworks at marina.
ok, not that disappointed about the dinner,
but a chance lost to meet someone new.
from the conversation with my aunt,
i think there should be a next chance.
afterall, "he is new to Singapore... so wanted you to bring him around..."
i dont think it's as simple as just being a good host.
knowing my aunt,
there is more to it.

i havent been putting up enough photos.
it's mainly words, words and more words...
so....
at bec's place (19th April 2008)...

celebrated jac's birthday at Chevron (2nd May 2008)...

M.I.N.D's camp in the zoo (17th to 18th May 2008)...
havent seen weiyan for a while back then... and i havent seen her since than...

after the camp... i went to sentosa with gun and sue...

and after my trip to sentosa, i went to join the zoo peepz for ktv at suntec....

a lot of things have happened in these few months... but it seems like i'm just too occupied to update....
in becca's house noww....
was supposed to be having a movie marathon...
but i guess we're just too tired.
went clubbing at st james with bec, qj, loo, xinyi and 4 of qj's friends.
i dont think i have ever came out of a club that early...
everyone seems to be tired.
so went to west coast mac and slack all the way till 6am just to avoid paying that 50% surcharge.
oh well, we're all broke.
i'm having lots of second thoughts about my job.
there was a period of time when i was really looking forward to working life.
but now, i feel that i'm gradually dreading it.
for such a not-worth-mentioning job,
the pay is good.
but i dread seeing the face of my boss.
the thought of leaving has cross my mind at least 30 times in the past month.
i hesitate because i dont really know what i want now.
and at least for now, there is something for me to do.
i feel as though i'm not working hard enough for myself.
everyone is talking about prospects.
so what are mine?
none.
maybe i'm just not brave enough to leave my current seemingly comfort life and try to look for something worth pursuing.
i seem to have a million complaints about my job.
i dont exactly dislike it.
i just dont like my boss.
i dislike her moodswings.
i dislike the way she keep telling us to bug people for things.
i dislike the way she make us look like pests to others.
even i feel that we are really irritating.
i dislike her sarcasm.
i dislike the fact that she cant work in a very professional manner.
i dislike the fact that she puts the blame on us when she is the one that doesnt have the solution to things.
i dislike the fact that i have to hold my breath and step into the office everyday because i dont know what her mood is going to be like for that day.
i dislike the times when i know it's not my mistake but i have to take the blame for it.
i dislike the times when i was being scolded for things that werent my fault and yet, i had to just keep quiet just to avoid the head-to-head clash with her.
it's as if i'm silently admitting that i am to blame.
i dislike people asking me how's my job because i dont really know the answer to it.
apart from the money, is there really something that is worth staying for?
i feel as though the only thing that i've learnt so far in my new role is tolerance and how to shut up.
everyone looks at me and wonder,
ok, so you dont like it... then how?
are you going to quit?
what are your plans?
have you started looking for something else?
if i know,
would i be in such a miserable state?

Clubbing @ Zouk
Went clubbing with irene, alicia, steven and raj a few weeks ago. well, zouk is not exactly a place that i want to go cos it's simply too crowded and the people there are very very young. but the rest wanted to go there, soooooo...... ....
the queue was already very long by the time we reached there... it was a bit turn-off and i really feel like going to somewhere else instead... but steven insisted on going for mambo... so we ended up joining the super-duper-long queue.

anyway, we didnt really stand in the queue for very long cos raj and steven suddenly remember that someone whom we all know has a son working in zouk. so they called that person and asked for a favour instead. thank goodness for that... if not, i cant imagine how long we'll be standing in that queue....

we stayed till about 330am before we went off for supper... was quite hungry by then... so went to eat prata. sat at the place and gossip for a while before going home. didnt know that so many things have happened... and it seems to get more and more interesting....
A day @ Qian Hu
i've been wanting to try out the fish spa for some time... but dont really have the chance. i saw it when i went to the Singapore Flyer, but it was too expensive, so i went online and checked out Qian Hu. Well, it's 10 bucks for half an hour, definitely much cheaper then the one at Flyer...

it was extremely ticklish at first...
the small fish nibbling at your dead skin.... ooo gosh... it's like someone tickling your feet. well, it's not that bad. in fact, after a while, you'll simply get used to it. and then, my cousin-in-law and i got a bolder, and went to the pool with the big fish.

can you see how big they are?
when they nibble at your feet, you can actually feel them sucking your feet. it's not as ticklish as the small fish, but initially, we were quite skeptical about it cos' it really seems a bit scary.
after a while, we went back to the pool of small fish again because it's more difficult to attract the big fish to nibble off your dead skin. the small fish just comes to you once you put your feet in....
